Longtime club member, Bernie Chapman, passes away Dec. 17, 2020

The Tollgate Trail Finders has lost one of its longtime members and volunteers. Bernie “Chappy” Chapman was instrumental in the construction of the Chapman Bone Springs Warning Shelter, which is named after him. Bernie was also involved in the construction of Ruckel Warming Shelter, the groomer shed, and the TTF Clubhouse.

Bernie and his wife, Mary Louise, enjoyed living at their cabin above Tollgate for the last 34 years.

Bernie received hospice care during his final days, and because he benefitted from the helpful caregivers the family asks that any memorial donations be sent to Hospice Center in Kennewick (https://chaplaincyhealthcare.org/donors/ways-to-give/).

There will be a celebration of life for Bernie later in spring or summer, and all will be welcome at Bernie and Louise’s cabin.
