Grooming Report October 2018

The end of September we tore apart the front of the 98 to replace the gears and bearings.  The parts are in and we will be putting it back together towards the end of October.  We should be in good shape for the upcoming winter.  We also repaired a potential problem on the 08 as Denny Farwell notified me of possible corrosion in the connector plug from the cab to the rest of the CAT. This was a major problem at the end of last season in his CAT as their CAT would not shift gears at all.  This plug in controls all functions to hydraulics, transmission and engine.  Denny came over and he and I took the plug apart and did find some corrosion on the tiny pins.  We cleaned and treated the plug and resealed the plug together and reconnected it to the cab plug.  Very difficult place to work on under the cab, it took the 2 of us 1/2 day to accomplish that without pulling the cab off.  Thanks to Denny for coming over to check it out and preventing a problem.

I am also working on getting diesel for the winter, that should happen this month.
We will be ready for the season.  Think snow!!
